All Terrain Runner (ATR) is in its third season and is an official USATF-NE series comprising races of varying distances, seasons and surfaces. The series begins with an indoor track event (3,000m, to be run during a qualifying window), before competitors venture outside to challenge themselves on varying terrains throughout the region.

Here’s the 2016 ATR schedule:

Please note the date of the Northeast Snowshoe Championship race, as it is replacement for the Horse Hill race (postponed due to lack of snow).

Remember, your best 5 of 7 4 of 6* races will score so you can theoretically miss two and still be in the hunt.

This bold series offers scoring and prizes for individuals only (no team aspect of it). There will be a total of $5,000 available in awards. The prize structure, awarding monetary rewards to the top five male and female finishers, is as follows:

          • First – $1,000
          • Second – $500
          • Third – $250
          • Fourth – $100
          • Fifth – $50

Cash prizes will also be awarded to age group winners in the following age divisions: 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Final scores are based on a runner’s top five scores. Participants who complete 6 of 7 5 of 6* events will receive a special series t-shirt.

Scoring will done by assigning 100 pts to the winner and then the rest of the field will be assigned scores based on their percentage behind the winner.

There is no additional cost to be a part of this, beyond the registration fees for each individual race. To be eligible you must be a USATF-NE member in good standing. Not a member? Join here.

*NOTEIt was adjusted to best 4 of 6 events for scoring and 5 of 6 events for the t-shirt after the snowshoe event in 2016 was cancelled. We felt it was only fair to still allow the originally stated number of missed events out of what events were still available to everyone.
